Sister Judith, O.C.D.

Sister Judith

of Santa Teresita (Zuniga), O.C.D.

I give praise and thanks to Almighty God for the fullness and beauty of my life as a consecrated religious—a life graced by the Cross and overflowing in blessings and love.

Get to know Sister:

Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Southern California.
In one word, how would you describe your time as a religious?
Happy!
What drew you to Carmel?
The joy of the Sisters and their love for the Church.
What tips do you have for younger religious on how to persevere in their vocation?
The most important thing is to keep one’s eyes fixed on Christ. Our call is from Our Lord and He will sustain us in our calling with His own love and fidelity, if we let Him. To let Him sustain us we have to remain very united with Him especially before the Blessed Sacrament.
For you personally, what does it mean to be a Carmelite?
For me, to be a Carmelite, and a spiritual daughter of St. Teresa of Jesus and Mother Luisita, means to stand humbly, lovingly and gratefully before Our Lord always ready and available to serve Him and His Church for His greater honor and glory.
