“Let yourselves be summoned by the love of Christ”
– St. John Paul II

Let’s Pray for Vocations

Prayer for Vocations

O God, Father of all Mercies,

Provider of a bountiful Harvest, send Your Graces upon those You have called to gather the fruits of Your labor; preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service of you.

Open the hearts of Your children that they may discern Your Holy Will; inspire in them a love and desire to surrender themselves to serving others in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Teach all Your faithful to follow their respective paths in life guided by Your Divine Word and Truth.
Through the intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary,
all the Angels, and Saints, humbly hear our prayers and
grant Your Church’s needs, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Day 1 (February 11)

Pray the prayer for vocations with this intention:

For Wonder:Today, we pray that men and women will approach vocational discernment with a spirit of wonder rather than a spirit of calculation.

Today’s prayer challenge:
Spend some quiet time praying with Psalm 139

Psalm 139 Text
I – LORD, you have probed me, you know me:
you know when I sit and stand;
you understand my thoughts from afar.
You sift through my travels and my rest;
with all my ways you are familiar.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
LORD, you know it all.
Behind and before you encircle me
and rest your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
far too lofty for me to reach
Where can I go from your spirit?
From your presence, where can I flee?
If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;
if I lie down in Sheol, there you are
If I take the wings of dawn
and dwell beyond the sea,
Even there your hand guides me,
your right hand holds me fast.
If I say, “Surely darkness shall hide me,
and night shall be my light”—
Darkness is not dark for you,
and night shines as the day.
Darkness and light are but one.

II – You formed my inmost being;
you knit me in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, because I am wonderfully made;
wonderful are your works!
My very self you know.
My bones are not hidden from you,
When I was being made in secret,
fashioned in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw me unformed;
in your book all are written down;
my days were shaped, before one came to be.

III – How precious to me are your designs, O God;
how vast the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the sands;
when I complete them, still you are with me.
When you would destroy the wicked, O God,
the bloodthirsty depart from me!
Your foes who conspire a plot against you
are exalted in vain.

IV – Do I not hate, LORD, those who hate you?
Those who rise against you, do I not loathe?
With fierce hatred I hate them,
enemies I count as my own.
Probe me, God, know my heart;
try me, know my thoughts.
See if there is a wicked path in me;
lead me along an ancient path.

Day 2 (February 12)

Pray the prayer for vocations with this intention:

For Authenticity:

Say the Word Lyrics

Say the word and there is light
Say the word and dead bones rise
Every start and end hangs on Your voice
For Your word never returns void

Written in a billion skies
Speaking to this heart of mine
All that I am with all creation
Hanging on every word that You’ve spoken
And it will not be shaken
Clinging for life to all Your promise
Hanging on every word that You say

It will remain
And my soul will hang on every word You say

Word made flesh You wrote in grace
Promise kept through cross and grave
Over words of stone, You spelled out love
And when You say, “It is done”
It is done

Written in a billion skies
Speaking to this heart of mine
All that I am with all creation
Hanging on every word that You’ve spoken
And it will not be shaken
Clinging for life to all Your promise
Hanging on every word that You’ve

Written in a billion skies
Speaking to this heart of mine
All that I am with all creation
Hanging on every word that You’ve spoken
And it will not be shaken
Clinging for life to all Your promise
Hanging on every word that You say

It will remain
And my soul will hang on every word You say
‘Cause I know Your word will never ever fail
And my soul will hang on every word You say

And we will shine, we will shine, with rays of light divine

Look to Him radiant with joy,
Look to Him radiant with joy
And we will shine, He will shine with rays of light divine

Look to Him and He will shine with light divine
Look to Him and He will shine with light divine.
Make of me a praise of your glory

Glorious Lyrics

There are times when
You might feel aimless

You can’t see the places
Where you belong
But you will find that
There is a purpose
It’s been there within you
All along

And when you’re near it
You can almost hear it

It’s like a symphony
Just keep listening, Oh, Oh

And pretty soon you’ll start
To figure out your part

Everyone plays a piece
And there are melodies, Oh, oh

In each one of us
Ooh it’s glorious

And you will know how
To let it ring out
As you discover
Who you are
Others around you
Will start to wake up
To the sounds that are
In their hearts
It’s so amazing
What we’re all creating

It’s like a symphony
Just keep listening, oh, oh

And pretty soon you’ll start
To figure out your part

Everyone plays a piece
And there are melodies, Oh, oh
In each one of us

Ooh it’s glorious

And as you feel
The notes build
Higher
You will see

It’s like a symphony
Just keep listening
And pretty soon you’ll start
To figure out your part

Everyone plays a piece
See there are melodies
In each one of us
Ooh it’s glorious.

Spend some quiet time of reflection listening to our song “Because You Say Forever.”

Because You Say Forever Lyrics

Deep in my heart I have heard Your voice,
Calling me to be by Your side
and give my life and follow where You lead.

Seized by Your love now I know that I
Cannot help but to leave it all
and heed the call that You have made to me.

Refrain:
You said, “Come, follow” and so I came.
You have proved faithful again and again
You took the first step when You called my name
Because you say forever
I want to stay the same.

Deep crashing waves cannot quench love
nor raging floods sweep You away.
I cannot pay to purchase what You give.

You are the same, Jesus, yesterday and today, forever more
I am sure Your love will never change
