A few months ago, we were taking stock of our lives as we closed out 2021 and entered 2022. Hopefully, many of us took some time to reflect upon how we wanted to grow in freedom and maturity by looking at the areas both within and outside ourselves that we thought needed to be changed, transformed.

Spirit of Carmel 2021 Fall Edition
The theme for this issue of Spirit of Carmel is family. For most of us the word “family” brings to mind fond memories of parents, grandparents and siblings. When it comes to family, we Carmelite Sisters, feel doubly blessed – with the family into which each of us was born and the family of sisters we become a part of upon entering Carmel. We invite you to read the articles in this issue written by our sisters – those who are in the early years of living their Carmelite vocation, as well as those sisters who have spent 25, 50 and even 70 years in religious life. The familial bond is real and grows stronger with every passing year as we help one another attain heaven.

In Thanksgiving
This February 2, 2021 is a milestone anniversary for the Carmelite Sisters. One hundred years ago in Mexico, Mother Maria Luisa Josefa of the Most Blessed Sacrament and her Sisters became officially affiliated with the Order of Discalced Carmelites.
Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Every year on July 16th is such a joyous occasion for all Carmelites throughout the world because we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, patroness of the Carmelite Order! Pray with us as we joyfully prepare for this wonderful feast of our Lady.
First Disciple
Our Lady appeared to St. Simon Stock in the 1200s presenting to him the scapular and promised: “This is a privilege for you and your brethren: whoever dies wearing it, will be saved.”
