Persevere

Persevere

A few months ago, we were taking stock of our lives as we closed out 2021 and entered 2022.  Hopefully, many of us took some time to reflect upon how we wanted to grow in freedom and maturity by looking at the areas both within and outside ourselves that we thought needed to be changed, transformed.

Spirit of Carmel 2021 Fall Edition

The theme for this issue of Spirit of Carmel is family. For most of us the word “family” brings to mind fond memories of parents, grandparents and siblings. When it comes to family, we Carmelite Sisters, feel doubly blessed – with the family into which each of us was born and the family of sisters we become a part of upon entering Carmel. We invite you to read the articles in this issue written by our sisters – those who are in the early years of living their Carmelite vocation, as well as those sisters who have spent 25, 50 and even 70 years in religious life. The familial bond is real and grows stronger with every passing year as we help one another attain heaven.

The Healing of Heaven

The Healing of Heaven

Our world is in pain. Over the past year, we’ve watched illness, social isolation, economic downfall, social unrest, and political turmoil sweep away all normalcy, leaving fear and anger in their wake. Holy water fonts have been emptied and replaced by bottles of hand sanitizer.
