The Christian faith differs from all other faiths because it is centered around a God who loves His creation and calls each person not merely to fulfill a task, but to live in a personal, loving relationship with Him.
Exodus 3:6 tells us that Moses “hid his face.” In addition to his awe and reverence, there is also curiosity mixed with courage and determination which declares: “I must go over to look at this remarkable sight [the burning bush that is not consumed!]”
We, too, are called by name to come to know this tender God in an intimate friendship where the only response that makes sense is a whole-hearted: “Here I am Lord!” No other response will satisfy the hunger within.
God’s call can be big and life-changing; it can also be small and ordinary. Growing in our relationship with God demands we release our desire to be in control of our lives all the time. It requires learning to place into God’s hands our inabilities, weaknesses, fears and insecurities. As we learn to let go, and trust Him, we will begin to experience a peace of heart as our will conforms to His.
Will you allow God to direct you in building the foundation of your life? Can you trust His love enough to allow Him to recreate in you this “holy ground” of His providential plan? Is God free to work in you the same powerful deeds He accomplished with Moses?
What is the “holy ground” that God is calling you to discover within yourself? Take time to look into the depths of your heart with Him so that you can more fully enter into God’s loving will for you. I dare you to have the courage to say: “I must go over and look at this remarkable sight.”
