Giving Tuesday 2024

This year, we invite you to remember the Carmelite Sisters on Giving Tuesday, December 3.

This Giving Tuesday, the Carmelite Sisters celebrate 97 years of service in Los Angeles with a goal of raising $97,000, to honor nearly a century of service in our apostolates of education, healthcare, and spiritual retreats.

St. John Paul II reminds us, “Man cannot fully find himself, except through a sincere gift of himself.” Bishop Robert Barron has often spoken of “the law of the gift:” the more you give away what you love, the more your own being is enhanced.

This spiritual principle undergirds a life of generosity: God is never outdone in generosity.

For those of us called to religious life, we have responded to God’s invitation to lay down the entirety of our lives though the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. But every disciple is called to a life of generosity, giving of ourselves. In responding to God’s invitation to give, each of us receive infinitely more.

As organizations around the world focus on giving, we asked our sisters about the mystery of self-gift. We want to explore together with you, our dear friends, how we find fulfillment through generosity.

Our mission is to bring the authentic truth of God’s personal, healing love to our world. Perhaps our world needs this more than ever. If you share this conviction to make God’s love present in the world, we humbly invite you to support our community financially.

It is your generosity that enables us to live our life of consecration: from the formation of our youngest sisters to the care of our precious elder sisters, and everything in between. You also ensure we are able to impact the lives of those we serve in this coming year: thousands of students, their families, the residents in our healthcare facilities, and the retreatants we serve.

May God reward you abundantly! We assure you of our heartfelt, sincere prayers.
