Meet with a Sister
Praised be Jesus Christ!
During your retreat we hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a sister. The Sisters are here to answer your questions, to pray with you, to share their own stories with you and/or to simply listen and receive what you would like to share. You will see below a list of the sisters available to meet with you. We hope you enjoy getting to know a little about them by reading their short bios!
Sign ups will close at 1:00pm [PST], Saturday, March 13. If you have any questions please contact Sister Maria Goretti at email@example.com
Please note: the Carmelite Sisters do not endorse any of the advertisements you may see while using signup.com; this website is a free service that we are using for our one-on-one sign ups and is in no other way affiliated with the Carmelite Sisters.
God bless you!
Praised be Jesus Christ! My name is Sister Mary Michael of Jesus Crucified, O.C.D. I was born in Santa Monica, California and have 7 siblings. God’s mercy called me to Carmel to be His own 42 years ago. I have had the privilege to serve in all of our apostolates. I am currently assigned at Franciscan University in Ohio, working in the Missionary Outreach Office, which I am enjoying very much…and I am loving the experience of the changing of the seasons, especially the snow!
Sister Shawn Pauline
Praised be Jesus Christ! My name is Sr. Shawn Pauline. I am a native of the Adirondacks in upstate New York. I attended College at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio where I received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Theology. I entered the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles, and have a passionate desire to be a conduit of God’s unconditional love to our wounded world.
Sister Emma Luz
Praised be Jesus Christ! My name is Sister Emma Luz, and I was born in Merced, California where I lived most of my life growing up. I entered the convent right out of high school feeling a strong call to give my life to Jesus in the Carmelite way of life. Making Jesus known and loved has been my joy by serving in formation work and in our teaching apostolates over the years.
Sister Anne Marie
Praised be Jesus Christ! My name is Sister Anne Marie. Here is a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in the Philippines and come from a family of 5 siblings. It was fun growing up! My parents were very musical and skits and plays were often par for the course. I am currently a teaching 5th grade at a Classical Education school and guess what? We are doing skits and plays there, too! I look forward to seeing you!
Sister Grace Helena
Praised be Jesus Christ! My name is Sister Grace Helena. I am originally from Michigan, and consider it a singular grace and gift to be a part of my religious family, the Carmelite Sisters. The gift to be totally given to our Lord is a beautiful call and one that I will be forever grateful for! It is a very special blessing and love of mine to share our Carmelite Spirituality and the beauty of spiritual motherhood.
Sister Maria Corazon
I was born in the Philippines and came to the United States when I was about twelve years old. I entered Carmel right after high school. Recently, a fifth grade student asked me a question. She asked what was the highlight of being a sister. I could not think of one highlight because the one truth that stands out is the mystery of my religious vocation. God has singled me out to be His own to know, love and serve Him as a Carmelite Sister. I am so grateful to Our Lord!
Sister Margaret Ann
Praised be Jesus Christ! My name is Sister Margaret Ann, O.C.D. I am from San Antonio, Texas. I did my undergraduate studies and played basketball and softball at St. Mary University in San Antonio. I spent one year at Troy State University in Alabama where I worked as an assistant basketball coach and completed a Masters. After teaching English and coaching high school basketball for four years, I entered the convent. I have served in our education apostolate in California and Florida. Being an instrument of God’s love for our youth is an amazing experience. Once they experience His love, their lives are different.
