Lesson One
Theme: Called to the fullness of happiness
Topic: Four levels of happiness
Students will identify humanity’s ability to love as our greatest dignity and joy. They will recall that God has a design for their life which will lead them to the greatest happiness and holiness.
Lesson Two
Theme: Called to be Leaven in the World
Topic: The vocation of the laity
SStudents will recall that God’s plan for their lives will lead to the greatest happiness and holiness. Students will name and describe the different vocations in the church. They will identify the characteristics of the vocation to marriage and the laity’s mission of building up the Kingdom of God by their family and occupation in the midst of the world.
Lesson Three
Theme: Called to Spiritual Fatherhood
Topic: Holy Priesthood
Students will reflect on the significance of the vocation to the priesthood. They will identify the effects of the grace of Holy Orders, especially the priest’s role in administering the sacraments.
Lesson Four
Theme: Consecrated for Christ
Topic: Consecrated Life
Students will recall that consecrated persons are called by Christ to follow Him more closely. Students will list and explain the vows and some different forms of consecrated life in the church.
Lesson Five
Theme: Listening and Responding
Topic: How to discern one’s vocation
Students will identify ways to foster a life open to hearing God’s call to their vocation. They will recall the process for entering into one’s vocation.
