Motherhouse Road Trip

A Nun’s Life Ministry will visit the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles, California, for an Ask Sister podcast on Wednesday, June 18, at 2 p.m. Pacific / 5 p.m. Eastern. Sister Timothy Marie, O.C.D. and Sister Faustina will join the hosts of the show, Sisters Julie Vieira and Maxine Kollasch, to talk about topics such as discernment, prayer, community, faith, and more.

Ask Sister is live-streamed (audio and video) over the Internet at aNunsLife.org/LIVE, and people from across the U.S. and many other countries watch it on their computers.

During the podcast, there also is a live chat room, where listeners interact with each other and the sisters. We bring listeners’ questions and comments from the chat room into the on-air conversation.

The podcast is part of the Motherhouse Road Trip series. The purpose of series, which is made possible through a grant, is to help connect Catholic sisters and nuns with an online community that is supportive of vocations, and with individuals who may be wondering if God is calling them to religious life.

A Nun’s Life Ministry was founded in 2006 by Sister Julie and Sister Maxine, who are IHM sisters from Monroe, Michigan. A Nun’s Life is a pioneer in combining technology, social media, and vocations outreach in highly interactive and pastoral ways.

A Nun’s Life encourages people to understand their lives as a vocation. The mission of A Nun’s Life is to help people discover and grow in their vocation by engaging questions about God, faith, and religious life. To help in this, A Nun’s Life brings the tradition of religious life, in areas such as discernment, prayer, and spirituality, into conversation with people’s everyday lives.

My parents come from different faith backgrounds, but they both had the same joyful openness to my vocation, they understood that my heart was with the California Carmelites! My Catholic father’s mother always wanted a religious in the family, so Dad in his own quiet way was pretty proud to see that his daughter had a vocation to religious life.
