May Crowning

May is the month traditionally dedicated to Our Blessed Mother. As part of our May traditions, Catholics around the world may celebrate Mary in a special way by having a “May Crowning”. In this ceremony, special veneration is shown to the Mother of Jesus in various ways. In the May Crowning ceremony, the Rosary may be recited, the priest may offer the faithful Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament, litanies to Our Lady may be recited, etc. But always the primary and central point is to show our love and devotion the Mother of God. As we participate in these wonderful ceremonies, let us keep our eyes fixed on the glorious and beautiful ever virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
